Douglas K. Schaeffer, Sr., 57, of Reedsville, died at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at his home.
Born May 9, 1958 in Lewistown, he was a son of Carl L. and the late Kathryn (Goss) Schaeffer.
In addition to his father, Douglas is survived by: his wife, Holly (DeArment) Schaeffer, whom he married Feb. 10, 1992; a son, Douglas K. Schaeffer, Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Drake, Deakon and Dilayna Schaeffer; and brothers, Carl L. Schaeffer and wife, Kelly, of Lewistown and Ronnie G. Schaeffer and his companion, Emily Mohler, of Burnham.
Douglas graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1977.
He installed siding for Marlette Homes.
Douglas attended the Lewistown Assembly of God Church.
Douglas loved his family. His son and grandkids meant the world to him.
He enjoyed outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, and was a motorcycle enthusiast. Earlier in life, he enjoyed playing many sports.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 29, at Lewistown Assembly of God Church, Pleasant Acres, 160 Summit Dr., Lewistown, with Rev. Dennis Sproull officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
