Dorothy E. Kauffman, 91, of McClure died at 4:25 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Ohesson Manor.
Born June 8, 1924 in Decatur, McClure she was a daughter of the late Henry E. and Margaretta (Wright) Kline.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her first husband, Walter Shilling and her 2nd husband, George Kauffman; her son, Richard Shilling; a grandson, Richard Shilling, Jr.; brothers, Henry V. and David O. Kline; and sister, Hazel J. Harker.
She is survived by: step-children, Ronald Kauffman, of Mapleton Depot, Shirley Warner, of Dillsburg, Betty Soloman, of Downingtown, and Carol Parks, of Reedsville; brother, George Kline, of McClure and Nestow Kline, of Port Deposit, Maryland; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a member of Samuel’s United Church of Christ.
She worked in the cutting room at Kirby-Bubbs Sewing Factory in McClure for 25 years.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Juniata Memorial Park with Pastor Clark Kelsey officiating.
For those who cannot attend the graveside service you are still invited to the McClure Fire House for a meal and time of fellowship at 11:30 a.m.
