Betty M. (Miller) Douglas

Betty M. Douglas, 88, of Lewistown died at 5:55 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Malta Home, Granville.

Born June 1, 1927 in Paintersville she was a daughter of the late Russell G. and Cora (Ament) Miller.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by: her husband, C. Robert Douglas, Sr.; an aunt and uncle who raised her, Laura and Carl Ament;  four brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by: her children, Deborah Worley and husband, Timothy, of Leola, and Charles R. Douglas Jr., of Lewistown; siblings, Donna Miller, of Lewistown, Martha Campbell and husband, John, of Middletown and Barbara Lippre and husband, Vincent, of Ridlay Park; three grandchildren, Hillary Houser and husband, Zachary, Jonathan Worley and Allie Douglas; and one great-grandchild, Mara Dee “Douglas” Houser.

Betty was a graduate of Yeagertown High School.

Earlier in life she had worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory, Credit Bureau, and later helped to run the family business, Douglas Food Market.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Betty enjoyed crochet, knitting, word puzzles and crosswords.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc., Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with Rev. Charles Hershberger officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10 – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
